I feel like I'm missing a hand

I'm itching to change the hairstyle on my animated Minime, but I bought a new computer a couple of weeks ago, and I no longer have Photoshop! (When I bought the new machine, I fiiinally made the leap to Leopard, and my old Adobe apps won't run.)

It'll be a couple of months before I can afford to shell out for Creative Suite, so until then, li'l Elise will just be stuck with her large Texas hair.

A make-do. It even has layers.

Thanks, Garrett. Quisp shared Seashore with me, and it'll work, too, when I just need to rotate, crop, etc. It doesn't look like I can do animation with either one, though ...

I'm thinking, however, that since I'm not working as a designer anymore I may just buy PS Elements. Do I honestly need Adobe's CS for what I'm doing these days? No. I'm just so used to having it.

Elements makes me itch uncontrollably. I'm so used to PS.

Don't make the mistake I did; when I switched to PC back in 2000, I didn't update my suite of programs, and tried to replace them with cheaper/open source versions. Kicking myself still over that one. You have an investment in your knowledge of software - don't let it lapse, if you intend to ever return to the industry.

Garret, I don't think I ever will return to the industry. If I do, it certainly won't be as a creative--creatives are no longer valued. I'm actually thinking about going back to school and getting my project management certification. No one can outsource project management.
